David’s baroque programme includes concertos by by Tonelli, Molter and Neruda, together with pieces by Telemann, Handel, Clarke and Purcell.David started playing at the age of five in his local village brass band of Lanner, in Cornwall. From this banding background he progressed through better bands, ultimately to play Principal Cornet with the Cornwall Youth Brass Band and Soprano Cornet with Camborne Town Band, the county’s premier band. From leaving school David went to study the trumpet at the Royal Academy of Music, going on to win the Sidney Lawton Brass Prize. After his studies David moved north to play Soprano Cornet with the Brighouse & Rastrick Band, but soon moved on to do more orchestral playing in this region. Alongside this playing David has taught with Doncaster Music Service for many years.
